According to US Bureau of Prisons records, Dataram is being held at the Brooklyn Metro Detention Centre.

Fourteen years ago, the US issued an extradition request for Dataram. However, following several moves to the High Court, his extradition was blocked. However, in 2016, an arrest warrant was issued for him and he was nabbed in Suriname and handed over to local authorities.

After he was convicted on the drug trafficking charges, he was sentenced to five years in jail. Since being released, he kept a low profile and reportedly only recently got his US passport renewed and decided to make a trip to the US.
