Joint Services find copter, illegal mining site in New River
A Joint Services operation in Region Nine has led to the discovery of a helicopter and an illegal mining site operated by Brazilians.
Two persons, including the pilot of the helicopter, who are from neighbouring Brazil were arrested and taken into custody.
The Guyana Defence Force in a statement yesterday said that the intelligence-led operation was carried out on February 19. The operation was carried out in the New River Triangle.
