President plugs oneness in inauguration speech

Having been reelected, President Irfaan Ali was yesterday sworn in and pledged to work with everyone in the political space, underscoring continuity, inclusivity, and rapid transformation while advancing his ‘One Guyana’ agenda.
Braving the sweltering heat of the mid-morning sun, a packed State House lawn of dignitaries and party supporters observed as the President took the oath of office which was administered by acting Chancellor of the Judiciary Justice Roxane George.
In his inauguration speech which followed, Ali presented a wide-ranging programme, positioning Guyana as a “rising frontier” and promising to convert economic momentum into tangible improvements for citizens. He said that he will fervently work on this quest to elevate the lives of Guyanese and the country as a whole.
