Nandlall responds to Azruddin Mohamed

Attorney General Anil Nandlall SC today responded to a comment on the Facebook page used by Azruddin Mohamed and the We Invest in Nation Nationhood party.

His response follows:

The putative Leader of the Opposition has, presumably, responded to the comments I made last night on ISSUES IN THE NEWS. My views thereof, insofar as they relate to the Mohamed’s, were both factual and legal, not personal.
They were made in response to questions from numerous reporters of various press outfits in the country.
I spoke not a word about or concerning money laundering.
I own, neither wholly nor in part, any casino operations in Guyana or Suriname. I am not in partnership with any person or entity.
My friend, whom I believe is being described as my ‘business partner’, was indeed questioned once by US Law Enforcement Authorities at an airport in the United States.
I am informed that many of the questions related to whether he had any business relationship with the Mohamed’s. He answered in the negative. I have no reason to doubt him.
