PPP/C captures Region Four chairmanship
The PPP/C today captured the Region Four Chairmanship for the first time ever when its candidate Clemsford Belgrade won the post with 18 of 35 votes.
The PPP/C only had 17 seats which meant that a member of the opposition voted with it. This had been expected.
While the PPP/ C candidate could have been defeated if all 18 opposition members voted against him, this was not to be as the new party, We Invest in Nationhood abstained. The APNU candidate for chairman only secured 8 votes despite her party having nine seats.
