City Council clears unauthorised ‘No Parking’ signs, obstacles to restore clear routes in Georgetown – INews Guyana
Acting Town Clerk Candace Nelson, this morning, along with ranks of the City Constabulary and the City Engineers Department, conducted a joint operation in the central business district of Georgetown, specifically along Regent Street and North Road.
The exercise focused on the removal of encumbrances such as unauthorised “No Parking” signs, and other obstructions that hinder pedestrian and vehicular movement.
According to a statement from the Georgetown Mayor and City Council, this initiative forms part of its ongoing efforts to restore order, enhance public safety, and maintain clear access routes throughout the capital city.

Nelson emphasised that the Council remains committed to ensuring a more organised and aesthetically pleasing city environment. She also reminded vendors, businesses, and property owners to comply with municipal regulations to support the city’s overall development and cleanliness campaign.
