Biker dies in Coldingen crash

Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle incident which occurred today about 07:00hrs on the Coldingen Public Road, East Coast Demerara, involving motorcycle CN 8252 driven by 21-year-old Brandon Thomas, a construction worker of Melanie, East Coast Demerara.

 

The police say that preliminary investigations disclosed that the motorcycle was proceeding east along the northern driving lane allegedly at a fast rate when the rider reportedly lost control and fell onto the roadway, receiving injuries about his body. He was picked up by public-spirited citizens and taken in an unconscious state to the Enmore Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor on duty.

 

The body was escorted to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home where it awaits a post-mortem examination.

 

CCTV cameras were observed and will be reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.
