Twelve-year old DeNobrega topples seasoned campaigner

Twelve-year-old Nathan de Nobrega toppled seasoned campaigner David Rose when the 13th edition of the Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (GBTI) Open tennis tournament commenced Saturday at the GBTI courts, Bel Air Park.

DeNobrega, appearing in his first main draw men’s Open singles tournament, led Rose 6/0 – 5/2, before Rose mounted a spirited comeback,  saving several match points before  snatching the second set 7/5.
