Venezuelan woman shot dead by lover in Region 8; Friend injured – News Source Guyana

Police investigators in Region Eight are probing the shooting death of 28-year-old Venezuelan national Rosemarie Torres and the injuring of her friend Elianny Perozo.

The incident took place on Friday afternoon and the boyfriend of Torres is the main suspect who remains on the run.

According to reports, after an earlier argument and threats, Rosemarie Torres went to her friend’s home for refuge. She was however followed by the boyfriend who opened fire on the two women, killing Torres and seriously injuring the other woman.

The man escaped from the scene and has not been seen since.

The probe into the murder is continuing.
