Farmer, 67, charged with murder of accountant

Khemraj Persaud called Pandit, a 67-year-old farmer/businessman of Lot 2 Unity, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara, was charged today with the offence of murder, contrary to common law, which was committed on accountant, Choormanie Tulsie called Anita, between 21st – 22nd November 2023, at Unity.

The police say that the accused appeared this morning at the Mahaica Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Alan Wilson where the charge were read to him. He was not required to plead and was remanded to prison.

The matter was adjourned to 20th June 2024
