Bartica teacher, 25, charged with rape of student

Dahlerus Courtman, a 25-year-old school teacher of 87-89 Three Miles Potaro Road, Bartica, who was arrested on 2025-02-05, by ranks of the Bartica Police Station for the alleged rape of an underage female student, has been remanded to prison after appearing in court charged with ‘Sexual Activity with a Child by Abusing a Position of Trust’.

The accused, on February 7, 2025, appeared before Magistrate Teriq Mohammed at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court. He was not required to plead to the charge and was subsequently remanded to prison until 2025-03-07.
