Body of wanted man was found by Police – INews Guyana

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) has indicated that the body of wanted man Kellon Fredericks was found by its ranks this morning.

Fredericks, 21, was wanted by the police in connection with murder and robbery under arms.

However, his body was discovered at Onderneeming Sand Pit on the Essequibo Coast.

Initial reports indicated that the man was shot dead by ranks of the GPF, but the police has since clarified that based on intelligence received, its officers went to the location and discovered Fredericks’ lifeless body in an area surrounded by thick vegetation.

Fredericks, a resident of Onderneeming Sand Pit and Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo, was clad in black jeans, a long-sleeved grey jersey, grey boxers, and a yellowish metal wristwatch. His body was found lying face down.

A preliminary examination of the body revealed multiple suspected gunshot wounds—one to the right side of his head and another to his upper back. Blood was also observed on his face and surrounding the wounds.

Crime scene investigators processed and photographed the location before the body was transported to the Suddie Hospital.

Fredericks, along with his brother Kevin Fredericks and others, was being sought in connection with over 30 armed robberies across Regions 2, 3, and 7 between 2023 and 2025.

He was also a prime suspect in the brutal murders of a Bartica businessman and his employee, as well as a businessman from Adventure on the Essequibo Coast.
