Car tax scam involving GRA officers under probe

Several officers attached to the Customs and Licensing Departments of the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) were taken into custody yesterday as the Guyana Police Force continues what is said to be an on-going investigation into a suspected vehicle tax scam.

Up to press time there was no word from the GRA on this matter.

The Guyana Police Force confirmed that investigators from the Criminal Investigation Department carried out the operation at the GRA headquarters earlier in the day as part of an ongoing probe that has been under way for some time.
