Ken Bruce announces Radio 2 departure live on air

BBC Radio 2’s Ken Bruce has announced that he is leaving the station, after 31 years of presenting his weekday mid-morning show.

Mr Bruce made the announcement live on air, going on to say that it was “entirely my decision” and that new career opportunities had come about. He will now join rival station Greatest Hits Radio.
