2 die after truck topples off bridge, lands in creek
A truck driver and his porter last evening lost their lives the vehicle in which they were travelling turned turtle along the trail, in the vicinity of the Iwokrama Canopy Walkway junction.
The truck driver has been identified as Orlan King of Annai, Region Nine (Upper Takutu-Essequibo) while the identity of the porter is yet to be confirmed.
Based on reports received, the lorry was leading to the Rupununi when it toppled whilst crossing a bridge.
Reports are that the two men were trapped in the vehicle after it landed in a creek. Their bodies were later pulled from the wreckage by persons who went to their aid.
Investigations are continuing.
