GPL transformer on Church St catches fire

A GPL transformer on Church St near to Waterloo St went up in flames this morning. It was later extinguished by the Guyana Fire Service.

The fire caused a power outage in the area.

The fire was said to have started at 10 am after an explosion. It was put out at around 11.22 am.
