The family and friends of Coleen Bowen-Samuels, a 46-year-old Linden-Soesdyke mother of two, have reported that she is missing.

Bowen-Samuels, who disappeared sometime between February 18 and February 19, 2024 was at the time residing alone at a friend’s residence at 840 Zeelugt Housing Scheme, East Bank Essequibo. Her sister, Subrina Bowen said that she reported the matter to the police last Thursday and as of yesterday neither the police nor her family has located her.

According to Subrina, who spoke to the Stabroek News, her sister is mentally challenged and that for about four months now her sister has not been well. She added that some time back in January, her sister moved away from her husband and came to Georgetown. She brought her two children with her but because of her condition she stayed with a family member with one of the children while the other child stayed at her Farm residence on the East Bank of Demerara. Subrina added, “My sister has been attacking me a lot and I couldn’t bring her at my home because I am a single mother of one child and I’m scared of her.”

Subrina relayed that after things didn’t work out between her sister and the family member, she stayed at a friend’s residence in Zeelugt. It was from there that she disappeared.
