Body of missing 17-Y-O fisherman found – INews Guyana

The body of the 17-year-old, who was one of two fishermen who went missing on April 8, was discovered on Friday.

Visual Parmanand, 17, and Daniel Inchanally, 32, both residents of Cotton Tree Village, West Coast Berbice reportedly left home to go to Crabwood Creek, Corentyne on April 8, to pick up the boat and sail it back to their village.

They left Crabwood Creek and were expected to sail along Guyana’s Atlantic Coast to the estuary of the Berbice River, where they were to moor the boat at the Three-Door landing site at D’Edward village. However, they never arrived .

Parmanand’s partly decomposed body was discovered at about midday on Friday April 18, along the eastern beach of the Atlantic in the vicinity of Borlam, East Coast Berbice.

The discovery was made by two fishermen who then alerted family members.

The teen’s father, Mahindranauth Parmanand had just returned from a search operation when he received the call from the two fishermen.

The body is currently at a mortuary awaiting an autopsy.

Meanwhile, the search for Inchanally continues.
