Motorcyclist killed, bus driver injured in Moblissa accident – INews Guyana

On Monday April 21, 2025 a Fatal Accident occurred at about 22:00hrs on Moblissa Public Road, Soesdyke Linden Highway, involving Mini bus with registration number BRR 8331 green and silver in colour owned by Vibert Amsterdam and driven by Maurice Meredith Male Guyanese of African Descent, age 54yrs of Lot 84 1st Alley, Wismar, Linden, motor car PXX 3747 white in colour owned and parked by Alonso Cornelius Male Guyanese Mix Ancestry, 53yrs of Lot 4603 Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden and Motor Cycle CL 7080
owned and driven by Markind Jackson, Male Guyanese of African Descent, age 39 years of Silver Hill Village, Soesdyke Linden Highway.
Inquiries disclosed that Mini Bus BRR 8331 was proceeding south along the eastern side of Moblissa Public Road, Soesdyke Linden Highway at an alleged fast rate when the driver lost control of the said Mini-Bus and ended up on the western drive lane of the said road and then collided with motor cycle CL 7080 which was proceeding in opposite direction pushing the Motorcyclist along with the Motor Cycle into Motor Car PXX 3747 which was parked on the western side of the said road, facing north.
As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist fell onto the road surface receiving injuries. The driver of the Mini Bus also received injuries, he was taken out of the said vehicle in a semi conscious condition and the Motorcyclist was picked up in a unconscious condition and placed in a passing Motor vehicle, escorted by the Police to Linden Hospital Complex, where they were both seen and examined by a Doctor on duty.
The Motorcyclist was pronounced dead on arrival, and the driver of the Mini Bus was admitted in the said Hospital, Accident and Emergency Unit for observation, under Police guard.
The body of the deceased was escorted to the Pensioners Mortuary awaiting post-mortem examination.
Investigations are ongoing.
