A Ministry of Health Nursing Assistant is wanted by the police for allegedly creating public mischief and attempting to pervert and obstruct the course of justice by claiming that she was present at the post-mortem examination of the body of 11-year-old Adriana Younge.

A woman’s voice is heard on the recording claiming that “Frank” told her to go to the post-mortem to give her opinion about what transpired. The person also talked about several aspects of what she purportedly observed and made several assumptions about what might have led to the death of the girl. Younge’s body was found in a pool at the Double Day Hotel, Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo, on April 25, 2025, one day after she was reported missing.

Health Minister Dr Frank Anthony on Monday said a video recording and a log book prove that Nursing Assistant Tiana Serena-Lewis-King, who is employed by the Ministry of Health, was never present at last week Monday’s post-mortem on the body of 11-year-old Adriana Younge.

“Additionally, as is the norm in such procedures, a detailed log of all present and the material particulars of what was done was recorded. My information is that the said record does not show this person being present at the post-mortem.

Moreover, I was informed by the Guyana Police Force, which was responsible for videotaping the process, that they reviewed the videography, and it does not show this person being present at the post-mortem,” the Health Minister said in a statement.

The Guyana Police Force (GPF), he said, is investigating this matter concerning an audio recording in which a female voice informs that she was present at the post-mortem examination and that he sent her there.

The Health Minister said he was considering legal action. “I remain in consultation with my lawyers regarding legal proceedings; I may wish to pursue against this individual who is obviously trying to maliciously tarnish my professional, public and personal reputation and standing.

“As far as I am aware, I do not know this person. I have never met this person, and have never spoken to this person. Therefore, assuming she was present, she was not there upon my instructions or on my behalf,” he said.

Dr Anthony said it is public knowledge that the post-mortem examination was videotaped.

Meanwhile, the Guyana Police Force said it has launched an “immediate investigation” in relation to a voice note purportedly made by Ms Lewis-King who lives at Lot 12 A Rosemary Lane l, South Cummingsburg.

Police said so far, Attorney-at-Law Darren Wade, who is the lawyer representing the interest of the family of the deceased, and he has confirmed to the police that Ms Lewis-King was not present at the post mortem examination.

Additionally, police said Dr. Caleb McCloggan who was also present during the post mortem examination and  representing the interest of the family was contacted, also confirmed that he listened to the recording and he recognised the voice of Ms Lewis-King who he knows as a nurse aid who graduated last year. He further confirmed that she was not present during the post mortem examination of Adriana Younge, police added.

The Guyana Police Force added that it has also reviewed its video recording made during the post mortem examination of Ms Younge and noted that Ms Lewis-King was never present in the room from commencement to conclusion of the post mortem; at no time whatsoever did the three qualified foreign pathologists who were present ask any nurse assistant or aid their opinions; and at no time was anyone present requested or required to write their names down on paper.
