US says cutting off profits of cocaine traffickers here


The State Department today said that new sanctions issued yesterday against several Guyanese including a formed police commander will cut off their profits and secure the borders of the US.

“@POTUS is confronting international drug trafficking head-on. Today @USTreasury, supported by @StateDept and other agencies, sanctioned individuals operating cocaine trafficking networks in Guyana. We’re cutting off their profits and securing our borders.”
State Department Spokesperson, Tammy Bruce said.

The US Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced yesterday that former Region One police commander Himnauth Sawh; ex-policeman Mark Cromwell, called ‘Demon’; Paul Daby Jr; and miner, Randolph Duncan, were among a list of six persons, which included two Colombians who were sanctioned under Executive Order 14059, which imposes sanctions on foreign persons involved in the global illicit drug trade.
