A Guyanese woman has been reported missing in neighbouring country Suriname after reportedly traveling there with her husband.

The missing woman has been identified as Coretta Blair Sandy, also known as Mindy, a 34-year-old resident of Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara (ECD).

According to a report published by Waterkant.net, Sandy had traveled from Cayenne, French Guiana to Suriname along with her husband, Terrence Glasgow, during what was described as a business stopover. She has not been seen since Wednesday, June 11.

In the report, Glasgow claims that the two were involved in a shooting incident in Suriname, during which Sandy was allegedly shot in the head and killed. He reportedly told Sandy’s relatives that he fled the scene and returned to Guyana without her body and is unable to say exactly where the incident occurred.

The matter was reported to local police in Guyana, and Glasgow is currently in custody. However, Sandy’s body has not yet been found.

Over the past several days, family and friends have been posting on social media, expressing concern and pleading for Sandy, if alive, to make contact. They have also been asking for anyone who may know her whereabouts to come forward. Relatives have indicated plans to travel to Suriname in search of answers.
