Amelia’s Ward man killed in shootout with police
A 26-year-old armed-robbery suspect of Wall Street Amelia’s Ward, Linden was killed on Monday night, during a shootout with the police.
According to a police press release, at about 23:45 hrs on Monday, acting on information received, police ranks on mobile patrol duty in Linden went to the home of armed-robbery suspect, Shamar Prince, 26, at Wall Street, Amelia’s Ward.
Prince, who was unemployed, police said, shared the apartment with his girlfriend Whitney Brazilio, a 22-year-old cook.
Police said Brazilio opened the door and spoke to the ranks. Prince, the release added, opened the back door and discharged his firearm at one of the ranks, who was forced to take cover.
