Two murdered in Buxton – Stabroek News
– relatives say wrong place, wrong time
By Khamisi Slowe
Still grappling with the shock of Tuesday night’s deadly shooting at Middle Walk, Buxton, the relatives of 48-year-old businessman Mark Anthony Correia and 15-year-old Leon McFarlane are adamant that they were not gang members and that their lives were senselessly cut short.
Correia, a pig and poultry farmer of Beterverwagting, and McFarlane, a recent CSEC student, were socialising with others at the community dominoes shop when gunmen opened fire just before midnight. The attack also left several others injured.
A police press release had stated that more than 40 spent shells were recovered from the scene and a silver motorcar had been seen suspiciously circling the area.
