Taxi driver riddled with bullets in Victory Valley
The body of a 30-year-old taxi driver was found motionless last evening with 14 gunshot wounds about his body in Victory Valley, Wismar, Linden.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Ron Clarke of William Street, Kitty, and Lot 76 Wisroc Housing Scheme which occurred at about 7.15 pm.
A 19-year-old construction worker told police that he was walking along a street in the area when he saw the deceased lying in a drain, motionless.
The teenager said he raised an alarm and Clarke was subsequently removed from the drain, placed in a passing car and taken to the Linden Hospital Complex, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. An examination of the body revealed that Clarke was shot five times in the right arm, twice in the groin, one to the right hip and six on the right thigh.
The scene was video processed by the crime scene ranks. One pair of black and white Adidas slippers was seen on the southern side of the street with blood stains on the right side, along with ten 9 mm spent shells. The spent shells and blood-stained slipper were collected, placed in an evidence bag, sealed and lodged to be escorted to the lab for examination.
The body was escorted to Jetsco Funeral Home, awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Several persons were questioned in the area as investigations continue
