Terrence Campbell to head APNU 12-member Parliament team

Businessman Terrence Campbell has been named the head of APNU”s 12-person list for the new Parliament, reflecting the seismic shift in the fortunes of the coalition which fell to third place in a disastrous performance at the September 1st general elections that has resulted in the leader of its main constituent – the PNCR – not being part of the lineup.

This would be the first time in its history that the People’s National Con-gress (PNC) and its later incarnations has been led in parliament by someone who is not the leader of the party or even a senior executive.

While it had been expected that A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) would retain its role as the main opposition, it was upended by the three-month old We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) party whose Leader Azruddin Mohamed will now be the Opposition Leader. PNCR Leader Aubrey Norton yesterday told the media he had decided not to return to Parliament. At the 2020 elections APNU+AFC se-cured 31 seats compared to the 12 at the 2025 election.
