PNCR Chairman Holder resigns as exodus continues
-General Secretary says party takes developments seriously but remains resilient
The fallout within the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) following the dismal performance of its A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) coalition at the September 1 elections deepened yesterday with the resignation of the party’s Chairman, Shurwayne Holder.
In an email to the party’s leader Aubrey Norton and General Secretary Sherwin Benjamin, Holder said his resignation from the position was with immediate effect. He did not give a reason for his decision.
Holder, who was twice elected as Chairman on Norton’s slate at the last two PNCR biennial congresses, expressed gratitude to the party’s leadership and membership for their confidence in him and wished them well in their rebuilding efforts.
