*Re: Facebook Post Involving Corporal 25126 Shazim Khan of Mabaruma Police Station*

On September 27, 2025, a Facebook post involving Corporal 25126 Shazim Khan and a 15-year, 11-month, Grade 11 student prompted the Gender-Based Unit of Mabaruma Police Station to initiate an investigation immediately.

A preliminary interview was conducted with the student in the presence of her mother. During the interview, the student stated that she never had any sexual relations with Khan, who is a family friend. Her mother confirmed this relationship and expressed her belief in her daughter’s story. Both the student and her mother provided written statements.

The Commander of Regional Division #1 also involved Ms Rehanna Chan, the School Welfare Officer for Region #1, who interviewed the student and her mother. They all maintained their account of events. However, the mother declined to allow a medical examination of her child, asserting that the Facebook post was intended to embarrass her daughter. The School Welfare Officer indicated that her investigation could not proceed further without the mother’s consent for the medical examination of the child.

Despite this, Blossom Inc. has been invited to conduct a forensic interview scheduled for 11:00 hrs today. The investigation is ongoing and will be expedited.
