Norton remains PNCR Leader – Stabroek News
-two new members elevated to Central Executive
The Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the PNCR yesterday affirmed its full support for the party’s current leader amid rumblings that he should take responsibility for its disastrous showing at the September 1st General and Regional Elections and stand down.
It was the CEC’s first meeting since the elections relegated the PNCR in its coalition APNU to third place in Parliament behind the PPP/C and newcomer, We Invest in Nationhood. The PPP/C won 36 seats, WIN 16 and the APNU, 12.
Meanwhile, on the heels of several resignations that swept through the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR), the party has now confirmed the elevation of two new members to its CEC. However, the individuals identified for the positions have not yet been formally informed or indicated whether they accept. In a press release last night, the party did not say which CEC members had left.
