Police find gun, ammo near ECD road – INews Guyana

Ranks of the Guyana Police Force in Regional Division 4C (East Coast Demerara) have discovered a firearm stashed near the roadway.

Acting on information received, the police conducted a cordon-and-search operation between 20:05 and 20:35 hours on Friday, looking for drugs, guns, ammunition, narcotics, and anything stolen or suspected to be stolen or illegally obtained.

As such, a search was conducted between the access roads of the Ogle New Highway and Goedverwagting, East Coast Demerara, where an area on the western side of the access road, which runs in an east-to-west direction, was searched, and between a quantity of stones, a black plastic bag was observed. Inside the plastic bag, the Police found a .32 pistol with a matching magazine, and one live .32 ammunition.

No one was arrested. Investigations are continuing.
