Prohibited items seized from Mazaruni Prison
Police in Regional Division #7 conducted a joint exercise today between 6.30 am and 8.15 am at the Mazaruni Prison, Region 7.
This operation, formed part of ongoing security measures aimed at enhancing safety within the facility, and preventing the circulation of prohibited items, a release from the police said.
During the exercise, several items were discovered and seized, including a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis, weighing 66.6 grams, along with five improvised weapons, thirteen lighters, ten cellular phones, one SIM card, three pairs of scissors and one cellular phone battery.
The exercise was completed without incident. Investigations are continuing.
