Works progressing on Palmyra-Moleson Creek Road expansion project – INews Guyana
Minister within the Ministry of Public Works, Madanlall Ramraj, today conducted a site visit to Lot 2 of the Palmyra to Moleson Creek Road Expansion Project, where he inspected ongoing works and received an update on the progress of this section of the massive infrastructure project.
He was accompanied by Procurement Manager Andy Mohadeo, Kareem critchlow- assistant project manager, a technical team from the Ministry of Public Works and representatives from the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC).
Lot 2 is currently 23 percent complete, slightly ahead of its scheduled progress of 22.8 percent.
Significant work has already been completed, including drains on both sides of the roadway, while expansion works continue to advance. The next major phase on this section will involve the layering of road materials, including crusher run and other structural materials, in preparation for asphalt.
Minister Ramraj stated that the benefits of the completed roadway will be tremendous, noting that the project forms part of President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali’s wider vision for greater interconnectivity, easier travel and improved access across Guyana.
He noted that once completed, the expanded roadway will reduce travel time, improve connectivity between communities and create greater opportunities for businesses, agriculture and economic activity along the corridor.
The project represents another major investment in building a modern, efficient and better-connected Guyana.
