One killed, two missing after boats collide on Mazaruni River

One person died and two are missing and feared drowned after two boats collided on Friday in the Mazaruni River in the vicinity of BK Quarries.

The dead person has been identified as  Oswald Hudson Jr, also known as ‘Sadie’, 29, a driver of Lot 1 First Avenue, Bartica. The two mission persons have been identified as Cranston Davidson, 43, of Agatash Village, Bartica and Troy Joseph, 35, of Agatash Village, Bartica. 

Enquiries revealed that Shavez Thomas, 29, a boat captain of Itaballi Landing, was heading home from Bartica with one passenger in his wooden boat powered by a 200-horsepower Yamaha outboard engine.
