Fashion model apologises for pretending to be Medical Doctor – News Source Guyana

A local model who has been pretending to be a medical doctor for a number of years has issued an apology while claiming that in his heart, he still believes that he is a doctor.

The young man who presented himself as Dr. Mikhail McKlennon issued an apology on social media today after the Guyana Cancer Foundation issued a warning about him. There are reports that he has been presenting himself as a doctor for a number of years.

He reportedly started to volunteer at the Cancer Foundation a few weeks ago but the Foundation’s CEO became suspicious after he could not provide his qualifying documents and a number of persons confirmed that he was not a doctor and had no medical training as a doctor.

A check at the Medical Council of Guyana also revealed that there is no one bearing his name registered as a medical doctor in the country. The Texila University which he claimed he attended also distanced itself from him, indicating that he was never a student at the university.

The Cancer Foundation in its statement said the young man is not a doctor and people should be warned.

After the statement reached social media, a number of other persons in the medical field said there were a number of red flags about the young man and that he once presented himself at a Berbice hospital as a Doctor and worked there for a period before leaving the area as questions about his qualifications surfaced.

The youth in his apology said he is passionate about being a doctor while admitting that he now believes that he took that passion too far by presenting himself as a medical doctor.
