Businessman charged with murdering man at Bartica gaming centre

Raymond Rupnarine, a 35-year-old businessman of Lot 30  Second Avenue, Bartica, was charged with murder at about 10:45 am today when he appeared at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Crystal Lambert.

The defendant, accused of the murder of  Mark Braithwaite on 23rd  August 2023 at Second Avenue, Bartica,  was not required to plead and was remanded to prison.

Rupnaraine is accused of hammering Braithwaite to death after a dispute at a gaming centre.

The matter was adjourned to the 29th of September 2023.
