Norton says will be presidential candidate for any group PNCR allies with

People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) Leader Aubrey Norton yesterday said he will be the presidential candidate of any coalition entered into by the party for the 2025 general election.

 “I will be the presidential candidate as determined by the PNC, the PNC is the largest political party in the coalition and I found his [Nigel Hughes’] comment on the presidential candidate as not useful at this stage… we will continue to engage whoever is engaging with us at this stage”.

AFC Presidential candidate Nigel Hughes when asked during his Tuesday  press conference whether Norton, Chairman of APNU and Leader of the PNCR, would assume leadership in any potential coalition, was unequivocal. “Absolutely not, the short answer to that is no,” Hughes said, adding that there must be a clear process for selecting leadership if the agreement moves beyond its current state.
