Chase Academy edges Waramuri 9-8 on penalty kicks

Defending champion Chase Academy yesterday defied match point twice to defeat Waramuri 9-8 on sudden death penalty kicks in the semifinal round of the Milo/Massy Secondary Football Championship.

 Sent into a penalty shootout at the Ministry of Education Ground, Carifesta Avenue, after full time ended 3-3, as the Waramuri unit on two occasions failed to see the deal.

On the fifth attempt, the goalkeeper saved his final Waramuri penalty shot with the score locked at 4-4 after Chase Academy missed from the distance to start the round.

The episode occurred in the seventh round with the score locked at 6-6. On this occasion the effort was inexplicably fired wide of the right side.
