Family of Adrianna Younge seeking North American pathologist for possible PME on Monday – INews Guyana
The family of Adrianna Younge is seeking a North America-based pathologist to conduct an autopsy on the child’s body.
It is expected that the pathologist would travel to Guyana over the weekend for a possible postmortem examination on Monday.
The government had ordered that an independent postmortem examination be conducted by independent international pathologist Dr. Shubhakar Karra Paul who was contacted to arrive in Guyana on Friday from Barbados.
However, the family opted to bring in their own pathologist.
Younge’s body was Thursday found in the pool at the Double Day Hotel, Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo, nearly 24 hours after she was reported missing.
The 11-year-old child had gone to the hotel’s poolside with her grandmother and other relatives when she disappeared shortly after arriving.
Previous searches of the pool showed no signs of the girl, according to relatives.
Amid protests by family members and concerned citizens outside of the hotel, the child’s body was found in the pool – under questionable circumstances.
