Pensioners to get $60,000 plus $50k transportation grant; Public assistance goes up to $40,000 – INews Guyana

Under the next People’s Progressive Party/Civic Government, pensioners will be benefitting from an increase in old age pension to some $60,000.

This was announced by President Dr Irfaan Ali who said this will see $18 billion more going to the elderly population. Pensioners will also benefit from a further $4 billion payout with a $50,000 transportation grant.

Meanwhile, President Ali also announced the increase of public assistance to $40,000 per person – a total of $19 million.

“These three measures alone will be putting back into the pockets of Guyanese, more than 60 billion of disposable income,”  the Head of State declared.
