GCAA launches e-services portal for aircraft landing permits – INews Guyana
The Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) today launched its e-services platform for Aircraft Landing Permits.
This initiative represents a significant achievement for the agency and underscores its commitment to providing accessible and efficient public services.
The launch of the online platform is the result of months of collaborative efforts between the GCAA and the National Data Management Authority (NDMA), whose dedicated team of experts has developed a system that enhances interagency cooperation.
This project exemplifies the potential of local talent and resources, as it was entirely designed and developed by Guyanese professionals, a commendable accomplishment for the NDMA and country.
At the launch event, Director General, GCAA, Lt. Col. (Ret’d) Egbert Field said, “We are thrilled to introduce this platform to the public. This project not only aligns with His Excellency’s visionary leadership but also embodies our unwavering commitment to ensuring that public services are both accessible and efficient for all stakeholders.”
The transition from a paper-based to an electronic system represents a transformative leap for the GCAA, delivering substantial cost savings by eliminating printing expenses for both applicants and the agency. This innovation enhances transparency, allowing applicants to track their applications in real-time and receive timely updates throughout the process.
Additionally, the shift reduces paper usage, positively impacting the environment and promoting sustainability within the aviation sector. With improved data management capabilities, the platform ensures that stakeholders have ready access to critical documents, streamlining operational processes and fostering greater efficiency.
Aviation Minister, Deodat Indar, said “this online platform will revolutionise the way we interact with the aviation sector, making it easier and faster for all stakeholders involved. By moving to a digital platform, we are achieving significant savings in resources and time. With improved processes and more accessible services, we can ensure that no matter where you live in the world, you can come to Guyana and access our products and services”
In the coming months, the GCAA will roll out additional e-services, including an online drone application system and digitisation of other application processes offered by the Authority. These projects are aimed at further enhancing service delivery to aviation stakeholders.
