WIN says Speaker has refused to meet its MPs

We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) today said that the Speaker of the National Assembly, Manzoor Nadir has refused to meet with its MPs.

Team Mohamed’s posed a photo on its Facebook page of WIN Leader Azruddin Mohamed sitting outside of Nadir’s office while other WIN MPs waited.

WIN and other opposition parties have been pressing for Nadir to do his constitutional duty and hold a meeting of non-governmental MPs for the election of the Leader of the Opposition. Nadir has thus far refused to do this since November 3rd when the 13th parliament first met.

Monday, January 26th is budget Day and questions have been raised as to whether the Leader of the Opposition will be elected before then.

Neither the government nor the PPP has called for the election to take place.
