Twelve displaced after collapse of Albouystown house
Yesterday, twelve persons, including ten young children, were impacted by the collapse of a home at Hill and Sussex streets, Albouystown.
A release by We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) said that one adult sustained injuries and was taken to the GPHC. The other family members were able to escape.
WIN Leader and Opposition Leader Azruddin Mohamed visited the affected family and offered financial support.
WIN called on Men on a Mission, which received $900 million in this year’s budget, and the Office of the President, which received $300 million for humanitarian works, to provide emergency assistance to this family immediately.
“Additionally, it is appalling that we have families in need of support and the government is mismanaging and wasting state resources. Special Branch Police in a silver Allion bearing vehicle number PAG 3188 trailed Mr. Mohamed from Ogle to Albouystown. The government needs to redirect the state resources and use their energies where it matters most”, the release added.
