Man remanded over murder of Rupununi tour guide
Ken Faria, a 49-year-old Community Relations Officer of Culvert City, Central Rupununi, Region # 9 was today charged with the murder of a Rupununi tour guide.
The charge was laid in relation to the murder of Leon Baird, called `Rasta’, which occurred between January 23 and January 25, 2026, at Wichabai, South Central Rupununi.
Faria appeared today at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Faith McGusty, where the charge was read to him. He was not required to plead and was remanded to prison.
The matter was adjourned to March 31, 2026.
