Defective gas regulator triggers fire at Kitty house – GFS – INews Guyana
Place: House at Lot 162 Garnette Street, Kitty Georgetown.
Section Leader Liverpool, Hackshaw, Leading Fireman Legal and nine Firefighters, together with appliances Water Tender# 118 and Water Carrier # 23, responded to the call arriving on location at 11:40 hrs.
Supposed Cause: A defective gas regulator head caused gas vapor to escape from the cylinder and came into contact with naked flame from the gas stove, ignited and spread to nearby combustible materials.
Damages: Two wooden cupboard and one glass case slightly damaged
Method of Extinction: One jet working from water carrier # 23 tank supply and hose reel from Water tender # 118, was used to extinguish the fire.
